High school student Homura Suzuko has returned to Ikebukuro, the town where she grew up.
"We're friends forever!" She treasures her memories of her old friend from when she was little, Morikawa Chinatsu, and she's excited at the prospect of meeting her again.
But when she gets to school, she finds she has trouble fitting in with the rest of the class.
One day, she decides that if she learns to play the card game WIXOSS, she might be able to make some friends. She stops at a card shop on her way home and buys a deck set. When she takes the set home and opens it, the girl on one of the cards begins to move, and speak.
"Welcome, Selector."
Humans chosen as Selectors must battle for control of the five coins that hold all their memories.
If they can retake all the coins, they win, and can leave the game. But if they lose, as a penalty—
"Lostorage"—What will become of Suzuko as she's caught up in this insane game?
And just like Suzuko, Chinatsu finds herself drawn into the game as well...

As for changes for the first series well number one guys can be selectors as we see in episode one. Another change is that players are no longer playing for wishes but instead to not have there memories wiped from them and as I said there a time limited for times between battles.
The show starts off with us seeing our two lead characters as child playing in a playground around there house. As the summary says Suzuko appears to be moving away so her friend Chinatsu gives her a gift and they swear to be friends forever.
As the show really begins you see Suzuko moving back to her old town and quickly get a idea of her home live. Suzuko lives with her Father who is the type that always leaves before her and doesn't return to late at night leaving her money for dinner on a coffee table everyday. You also find out that while she was away she wrote Chinatsu but a few letters never made it. Suzuko goes looking for her friends house only to find out she doesn't live there anymore. in fact we even get to she Chinatsu for a bit learning that she works part time a fast food place and that her and her family our now living in a tiny apartment for so reason.
Well then after that as the summary says Suzuko attempts to make friends by buying a deck and finds out she a selector and is give a Lrig she names Lil. After finding out everything Suzuko seems to want nothing to do with the selector battles but soon learns that if she doesn't battle soon she'll lose the one coin she as and lose her memories. As for other selectors we learn there one at her school which Suzuko runs away from fighting. Then getting tricked into battle this scum bag guy who appears to pick on newbie players. Suzuko ultimately wins and we learn that the selectors can bet there coins to do special things.
At the end of the episode we see Chinatsu meeting her Lrig so I guess will have to wait and see where the plot goes from here.[\Spoiler]
Overall I like the new plot they came up with for the series and I'm more there excited to see any dark twist I'm hoping they'll add in. The card battles are in fact cool to watch, so I'll clearly be continuing watching this sequel to a show I really enjoyed before.
